The Art Studio NY

#1 Rated Art Classes in New York City!

Life is hectic. You are stressed and overwhelmed with life's daily demands. You need space and time for yourself to relax, unwind and discover real fulfillment in your life. The Art Studio NY is known as a creative urban oasis where stress melts away and joy blossoms. Are you ready to practice 5 Proven Relaxation Tips That Will Help YOU NOW?

1. Meditation - When you catch yourself worrying about your job, your relationship or your lifelong to-do list, experts say to simply let the thought escape, and bring your mind back through gentle focus. CREATING ART is a form of meditation. Just 5 to 10 minutes of daily practice will make your stress levels drop and your CREATIVITY soar!

2. Picture Yourself Relaxed - Is your mind too talkative to meditate? Try creating a peaceful visualization, or "dreamscape." PAINT a beautiful scene in your mind and visualize yourself in this place as tensions release. Like us on Facebook to view our weekly BEAUTIFUL BEGINNINGS for inspirational images that will help you to practice visualizations.

3. Breathe Deeply- Feel your breath coming and going up your spine. Inhale, feeling your entire belly, sides and lower back expand. Exhale, sighing again as you drop your chest, and feeling your belly, back and sides contract. Repeat 10 times. This is also a great technique to use before picking up a pencil or brush.

4. Listen to Music - Scientists say that music calms the heartbeat and soothe the soul. So, when the going gets rough, take a musical stress detour by aligning your heartbeat with the slow tempo of a relaxing song. At The Art Studio NY, we LOVE playing music during art classes to further relaxation and self-expression.

5. MAKE ART! PAINTING & DRAWING - Painting and creating ART is an ideal way of healing stress and anxiety. Due to increased artistic focus, the mind and body have time to release toxins and re-balance to a peaceful state. Relaxation gained during a painting session at TASNY enables you to have a clearer line of thought, which later helps you deal with problems and gain more positive perspective.
