Art Journaling Classes Online
The Art Studio NY offers Art Journaling Classes year-round. Express your creativity!
An art journal is the one page nobody grades. In our art journaling classes you paint, draw, collage and write your way through a page without needing a plan, a subject, or any previous experience — the point is the making, not the finished picture. Students tell us it is the most relaxing hour of their week.
Each session introduces a different way in: colour and mark-making, collage and mixed media, drawing from memory, lettering and text on the page. You will build a small library of techniques you can keep using on your own, and a finished journal you actually want to keep. Because our online art class sizes stay small, your instructor sees your page every week and responds to what you are making.
These classes are online, so you can take them from anywhere — all you need is a sketchbook and whatever materials you already own. Come as an absolute beginner, or bring an existing practice and use the time to loosen it up. Our warm, non-judgemental approach is the same one behind all our adult art classes.
Sessions run back to back, so you can start with any of them. If one has already begun, you can still join and pay only for the classes left.Upcoming sessions
