This art class is perfect for all levels, total beginners welcome! Small group art instruction is provided so each participant receives one-on-one art instruction to support your creative development and authentic self-expression. In our outdoor watercolor art class in NYC, adults will:

• Explore a variety of watercolor painting techniques and learn how to paint trees, flowers or nature while tapping into your unique self-expression
• Enjoy tailor-made, encouraging and non-judgemental one-on-one expert art instruction from a New York City art educator and artist
• Learn how to paint “En Plein Air” like the masters Monet and Renoir with the inspiration of New York City’s Central Park
• Enjoy guided demonstrations of important artistic tips, techniques and tools as you practice watercolor painting class techniques as you learn to paint trees
• Learn techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, color layering, watercolor washes and composition and incorporate these into your artwork

Due to the possibility of inclement  weather, any classes that cannot take place outdoors will automatically meet online at the same time and day.

Art Class Materials:

Materials are not included.

For Watercolor you will need:

• Watercolor Paper (any size you prefer and preferably at least 140 lbs),
• Watercolor Paint Set (Watercolor Pan sets are great for beginners),
• Paint Palette or Plate where you can mix your paint
• Watercolor Brushes (2 rounds and 2 flats- such as 4s and 12s which are big and small varieties),
• cup/jar for water,
• Painter's Masking Tape such as Frog Tape
• Pencil and sharpener
• Eraser- white vinyl or kneaded is fine
• Optional: Any thin water-resistant black or white pens such as Micron Ink Pens, Acrylic Paint Pens, Gelly Roll, Sharpie
• Optional: Masking Fluid -not needed for short courses

You may consider bringing a blanket or something to sit on.
