With a professional NYC artist as your guide, you'll learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting while creating beautiful artwork inspired by landscapes, flowers, still life, abstract art, and your own imagination. In This Beginner Watercolor Class, You Will:

• Learn watercolor painting step by step with personalized instruction from a professional artist and educator
• Build a strong foundation in essential watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, gradated washes, variegated washes, dry brush, glazing, layering, splattering, dripping, and color mixing
• Discover how to control water, pigment, brushwork, transparency, value, color, and texture
• Learn how to create beautiful color palettes and mix the colors you envision
• Explore watercolor through a variety of subjects, including landscape painting, floral painting, still life, and abstract art
• Watch live watercolor demonstrations and immediately practice the techniques you've learned
• Learn how to combine watercolor techniques with your own personal artistic style and self-expression
• Receive individualized feedback and encouragement so you can understand why a technique works
• Create finished watercolor paintings you can take home, display, or give as meaningful handmade gifts

Art Class Materials:

Materials are not included.

For Watercolor you will need:

• Watercolor Paper (any size you prefer and preferably at least 140 lbs),
• Watercolor Paint Set (Watercolor Pan sets are great for beginners),
• Paint Palette or Plate where you can mix your paint
• Watercolor Brushes (2 rounds and 2 flats- such as 4s and 12s which are big and small varieties),
• cup/jar for water,
• Painter's Masking Tape such as Frog Tape
• Pencil and sharpener
• Eraser- white vinyl or kneaded is fine
• Optional: Any thin water-resistant black or white pens such as Micron Ink Pens, Acrylic Paint Pens, Gelly Roll, Sharpie
• Optional: Masking Fluid -not needed for short courses
