BEGINNER’S ARCHITECTURE CLASS FOR KIDS: DESIGN YOUR OWN BUILDING!
It’s time to get creative with architecture with NYC’s #1-rated art school, The Art Studio NY! In this online architecture class for kids, students will unleash their imagination, tap into their unique creativity, learn architectural skills and techniques, and design their dream building while having FUN together! Through engaging, top-notch art and architecture art lessons, interactive learning, and social engagement with peers, kids will feel excited and inspired as they learn about how architects work while exploring their own self-expression through designing a modern building of their very own. In this encouraging, positive and hands-on Virtual Architecture 101 class for kids, students will:
- Learn architectural skills, tools and techniques such as design, drawing, sketching, site plans, sections, interior design, perspective, space, and how to create architectural blueprints for their dream building
- Explore environmental sustainability and learn problem-solving skills to apply towards building modern spaces
- Learn fun facts about famous 20th century architects and feel inspired by architectural history
- Think outside the box and flex imaginations while creating dream spaces to live, learn and play in
- Create and draw the plans for each room of their dream space
- Discuss ideas, play brainstorming games, share their artwork with peers,and receive encouraging feedback
- Create and learn about artwork architects create and pave the way for their very own dream building plan
- Receive individualized attention while being encouraged to dream big while expressing their own vision
SPECIAL GUEST INSTRUCTOR: Registered Architect Marina Gabriela Brink
Marina G. Brink is a licensed architect and business leader with international experience in architectural design and real estate development. Marina pioneered WeWork’s design and development of the company’s first co-working locations worldwide, including in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. She also led the tenant fit out for New York’s most iconic buildings: the Lord & Taylor Flagship on Fifth Ave. Prior to WeWork, Marina spearheaded architectural standards and led the design of major Flagship locations for Tiffany & Co.
In 2018, Marina fulfilled her dream of having her own business and founded MGB Architects which specializes in high-end residential design, consultancy and development globally. Now that she is able to fully manage her schedule, she is excited to join The Art Studio NY and teach architecture to students of all ages. Marina's warmth and compassion infuse the classes she teaches, and she loves to give back through education. Marina is grateful for the many wonderful teachers she has had throughout her life.
Materials are not included. For this class, you will need:
- White drawing pad
- Ruler
- Pencil and eraser
- Colored pencils
- Old magazines
- Glue Scissors
- Black sharpie marker (thin)
- Graph paper

All online classes are now held online in our virtual art classrooms using zoom classrooms. Art class materials should be ordered ahead of the first class meeting time. Or you may use materials you already have.
