✨  Beginner Watercolor Painting Class – Relax, Learn, and Create with Confidence

If you’ve ever said, “I can’t even draw a straight line,” this class will show you that you can create beautiful art — one brushstroke at a time. In this beginner-friendly watercolor painting class at The Art Studio NY, NYC’s #1-rated art studio, you’ll enjoy a relaxing, supportive space designed to help you let go of fear, explore your creativity, and learn real artistic skills step by step.  Each week, you’ll create your own paintings inspired by flowers, still life, landscapes, and abstract expression, while learning how to connect technique with your authentic self-expression.

✨ Guided by a professional NYC artist and educator, you’ll receive personalized, encouraging instruction as you explore watercolor techniques such as:

•Color mixing and creating expressive palettes
•Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry painting methods
•Washes, glazing, and layering for depth and light
•Brush control, mark-making, and texture creation
•Understanding composition, value, and contrast

This is one session of Watercolor Painting for Total Beginners — In-Person NYC (W. 72nd St.)

Art Class Materials:

Materials are not included.

For Watercolor you will need:

• Watercolor Paper (any size you prefer and preferably at least 140 lbs),
• Watercolor Paint Set (Watercolor Pan sets are great for beginners),
• Paint Palette or Plate where you can mix your paint
• Watercolor Brushes (2 rounds and 2 flats- such as 4s and 12s which are big and small varieties),
• cup/jar for water,
• Painter's Masking Tape such as Frog Tape
• Pencil and sharpener
• Eraser- white vinyl or kneaded is fine
• Optional: Any thin water-resistant black or white pens such as Micron Ink Pens, Acrylic Paint Pens, Gelly Roll, Sharpie
• Optional: Masking Fluid -not needed for short courses
