Intermediate Watercolor Painting Classes Online
You have painted enough watercolour to know what you do not yet control. Washes that dry patchy. Colours that turn to mud once they meet. A painting that was going well until the moment you overworked it. Our intermediate watercolor classes are built for exactly that stage — past the first fundamentals, and ready to be deliberate.
Over a multi-week series we work on the things that separate a competent watercolour from a confident one: controlling water and timing, wet-into-wet and layered glazing, mixing clean colour and knowing which pigments will not stay clean, edges — when to keep them sharp and when to let them go, and how to leave a painting alone once it is finished. You will work from still life, landscape and photo reference, and choose your own subjects as the series goes on.
Classes meet live online in small groups, so your instructor can look at your painting in progress and tell you what is actually happening on your paper — which is the part that is hard to get from a video. You will need your own watercolour paints, brushes and paper; we send a materials list before the first session.
