OPEN STUDIO: CREATIVITY. COMMUNITY. CONNECTION.

Join together in creativity, community and connection in our virtual art studio. Guided by The Art Studio NY’s Founder and Internationally Exhibited Artist/Author Rebecca Schweiger, or another guest instructor, feel supported as you create your own self-directed artwork while sharing creative space together.

Being creative is how we come alive and express ourselves authentically, and we need this sense of connection to ourselves and others now more than ever. In this stressful time of COVID-19 and social distancing, while we live separately, we come together to connect and create meaning through art, friendship, self-care and self-expression.

In virtual Open Studio, we will:

• Feel supported in your artistic process and experience meaningful connection to peers in our uplifting, calming, stress-relieving art studio community
• Share in meaningful conversations about what creativity is, how you express yourself in your artwork, and how creativity overflows into your daily life
• Create your own self-directed artwork and receive feedback and inspiration about subject matter and materials usage from your peers
• Share artistic inspiration, learn new art techniques, and enjoy live Q and A’s with your instructor
• Explore and experiment with the art materials you enjoy most, and spark new ideas by seeing what others are creating in their artwork
• Receive inspiration by witnessing, and discussing, how artists use a variety of materials and creative genres, such as drawing, painting, watercolors, mixed-media, realism, abstraction and more
• Learn, watch, ask questions and get answers from Rebecca Schweiger (or guest artist) as she creates her own artwork alongside you
• Structured artistic discussion will be provided for half of the Open Studio by your instructor, while the other half, participants are encouraged to provide feedback and inspiration with one another to harness a deepened community connection
