Manager of Education and Instruction
Lindsay is an art educator, multidisciplinary artist, and illustrator originally from Phoenix, Arizona. Lindsay is fiercely passionate about promoting creativity, and she is always seeking out meaningful ways to pass on her knowledge and skills. Years of cross cultural experience have greatly influenced her warm approach to teaching, which has been described as open, empathetic, and thoughtful by her many students of all ages. Offering a relaxed learning environment helps to activate play and foster new pathways of ideation. She hopes to challenge her students with design principals and a variety of artistic techniques while also encouraging them to discover their own intuition and personal style.
Lindsay works as a fine artist and illustrator under her artist name, “Linden Eller.” Her abstract collages and paintings center around themes of memory architecture – its process of alterations, renewals, and inaccuracies. Fully enamored by mixed media, she uses a variety of materials to create, including paper, found fragments, transparencies, sewing thread, paint, and pastels. Blending autobiographical narratives with collective subjects such as childhood, longing, and place, her pieces act as layered field recordings that represent a oneness – multiple perspectives of the same story. Lindsay’s work has been published and exhibited internationally, and she has completed artist residencies in Samoa, France, and Australia. Her illustrations use both analog and digital methods for a variety of clients, specializing in projects for children.
After obtaining her BA in Studio Art with an emphasis in drawing and painting, Lindsay went on to live and work in numerous countries throughout Europe, Asia, and Oceania. As a full time Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher in Japan, she developed creative projects for the class that both energized and nurtured children’s imagination. In Morocco, she partnered with a non-profit to host workshops with underprivileged youth, incorporating their drawings in her design to create a local mural. Lindsay has led collage workshops to adults, including those with developmental disabilities, mentoring them to use the medium in a personal and expressive way. Currently, she teaches virtual ESL courses to kids in China, integrating immersive English lessons with drawing and using art as a platform to explore multiple avenues of growth.
Lindsay can often be found daydreaming of starting a homestead with sunflowers and sheep in the Hudson Valley, NY.
