Meera Rao joins The Art Studio NY with over 20 years of experience as a nonprofit leader. Her talents and distinctive skill base include event management, aligning operations to mission, and applying sound business and fiscal management principles to optimize impact. Meera’s core values include a drive for excellence and a client-centric focus combined with strategic action, success in diverse settings, innovation, and collaboration. Previously, Meera has steered international workshops, organized medical training, and developed culture-sensitive programs in economically underdeveloped countries in Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Meera’s professional efforts have also been focused on organizational structure, communications, and governance issues in nonprofits that add or create social value to marginalized populations in low-income situations. She is excited to share her vast range of expertise with The Art Studio NY in order to bring the wellness and personal fulfillment benefits of art, creativity, and self-expression into the mainstream.
With comprehensive experience that includes devising appropriate outcome measures and interpersonal skills that reflect her understanding of client needs, she brings vibrancy and effective dynamic flow to all professional and collaborative efforts at The Art Studio NY. Meera is a Tanenbaum Fellow at Milano, The New School for Management and Urban Policy, New York. She holds a Master’s degree in English Literature from Bangalore University and course work in MA, in International Education and Media Ecology, NYU.
With her vast knowledge, warmth, engaging personality, and naturally caring spirit, Meera is enthusiastic in driving The Art Studio NY’s expansion of art classes, art workshops, corporate art events, and creative programming to schools, corporations, businesses, and communities throughout the entire New York City metropolitan area, so more people in the world can benefit from the power of art.
